BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mentorship is all about being generous with your time - showing up, sharing what you know and believing in someone enough to guide them forward. That spirit is at the core of this foundation and it's the same spirit Seth lived by every day and that our Board carries on, in his name.
Each of one of them has a direct connection to Seth and to the trades. They understand the value of hard work, the power of passing on a skill and the importance of giving young people a chance. And they have been incredibly generous with their time, their experince and their hearts as we've worked together to build this foundation.
FOUNDATION FRIENDS
Ed Wheeler was a steady, guiding force in Seth's life and in the lives of his friends as they were growing up. With more than 40 years of experince as a welder for BG&E, working on gas lines and tackling the kind of tough jobs that build real skill and real character, Ed shared not just his knowledge but his stories, his work ethic and his belief in doing things the right way. He mentored the boys with patience, pride and a genuine love for the trades, shaping their confidence and showing them what it means to be dependable,hardworking and committed. His influence continues to live on in the students that cross paths with our foundation.
FOUNDATION FRIENDS
Ethan Brooks, owner of Brooks Welding and Fabrication started welding at the age of 16, and unlike other mentors, is completely self taught. As a teen he worked in a sign shop that opened the door to the world of welding. His career spans many years in multiple industries, even art. In addition to his current role of business owner, he is also lead welder at Sparrows Point repairing heavy equipment. Despite his crazy schedule, Ethan has kindly donated his time to host welding workshops and gearing up to participate in our Jr. Trades Exploration Event.
